New Update from 11/20/2020:

Dear BYAHA/Jr Steelheads members:

You have probably heard the news that the City of Boise announced that Idaho Ice World is closing until September 30, 2021. If you have not seen it, we posted the message we received from the City below. Obviously, we are disappointed and frustrated by this news, but we are thankful that our teams were able to get as much ice as they did in the first few months of the season. We remain optimistic for the second half of the season. Idaho Central (formally Century Link) is currently shut down, but it is on a temporary basis. We are hopeful that the kids will be back skating at Idaho Central. As soon as we obtain more information we will either update the entire membership, or send information directly to the coaches and team managers.

Kind Regards,

BYAHA/Jr Steelheads Board

Letter from Idaho Ice World (City of Boise):

Dear IceWorld Valued Customers,

The health and safety of our employees and community are our top priority.  As a result, the City of Boise made the decision out of an abundance of caution due to the current state of the pandemic and healthcare crisis in our community to close Idaho IceWorld beginning Saturday, November 21 until September 30, 2021.

The primary reason for closure is the safety of our employees and community. However, an extended closure will also help the city with significant cost savings during challenging financial times for our community.  The winter season is our primary revenue generation time, and without it, the operation becomes a serious and significant financial burden to the city.  While a difficult decision, a long-term closure is the responsible thing to do for community and employee safety as well as the acting in a financially responsible manner. This decision was not made lightly, but city leaders are in agreement that the closure is necessary.

Although we are not aware of any wide spread of the virus at the facility, the activities that occur are at a high risk of contributing to community spread.  With the current state of the pandemic and healthcare crisis, the city has a responsibility and accountability to the community and our employees to assure a safe environment and facility. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Credits and refunds for canceled or partially canceled programs, rentals or activities will be issued in-full or prorated depending on the circumstance.  The refunds will occur over the next several days.
